Corte hosts the international "Chess & Education" conference

On April 12, 2022 the world of Education and Chess will have the eyes turned towards the University of Corsica where several prestigious guests will be present. Viktor Bologan, executive director of the International Chess Federation, Michel Barat, former rector of the Academy of Corsica, Léo Battesti, former president of the Corsican league, Stéphane Escafre, international referee and Guillaume Gerrandi, lecturer will follow one another on stage. Transposing chess strategy in schooling, the link between chess and artificial intelligence, chess in teacher training will be some of the topics addressed from 9 am to 12 pm.  The event, of international scope, will be broadcast live on the internet.

This studious moment will be followed by a simultaneous game at the end of the day where about twenty students from the University’s chess club will challenge GM Viktor Bologan.

The day will thus officially launch the festivities of the Mitropa Cup, which will see the Western European teams compete in Corte from 30 April to 8 May 2022.
